What program are your using to view your jpeg files?
Does that program have a printer access?
What error message do your get when you try?

You don't give enough information for us to guess at what you are doing.

Which HP printer? Please be specific.

Thanks for the respond.
I'm using the 3 in 1 HP laser 3050.

The program used to open was the windows fax and picture view.
There was no error message. When I click print the hour clock appears for a
while and stops without any print out. The print manager does not record any
print being sent for printing.

Open the picture in MS Paint instead. It sounds to me like the "Printing
Wizard for "Fax and picture viewer" is broken.

Many thanks for the idea about using Paint. That does work so is now my
current work around rather than inserting jpg files into Word and
printing from there. I have a Vista Home Premium service pack 2
operating system. I can't remember if I have ever been able to print a
jpg on this box. Jpgs open using Windows Photo Gallery, when I hit the
print icon my HP 340C printer delivers 1 blank page and that is it.
Nothing is left on the printer queue. Is there a way to fix Photo
Gallery or a product I can default to instead for printing jpgs?

Help much appreciated. This is not critical but very irritating.

I have now fixed the problem but in a totally illogical way. In Windows
Photo Gallery I went to the printer settings and then the advanced
options for my HP940C printer. The option to optimise for photocopying
and fax was off, so I set it on. I then tried to print and it did so,
although in black and white. I then set that option back to off and
printed again. This time a successful print, in colour.

As Mr Spock would say in Star Trek "This is not logical".

If this helps anyone else they are very welcome to the information.

Thanks for the info. Welcome to HP device drivers written in Asian sweatshops.

I guess the option to optimize for photocopying and fax, was really
optimizing for B&W output.
