COM+ install error

When installing WIN2003 ENT, I get a COM+ setup error.
d:\srv03rtm\com\complus\src\complussetup\comsetup\ccomplus
core.cpp (line 561) error code 0x80040206. After this
WIN2003 won't run. What might be the cause?

Here are some steps to trigger a re-run of COM+ setup:

You may want to review the setuperr.log to see if there were any other
failures as well.

Bryce,
I have installed W2K3 a few times on this machine with no
problem. Could it be hardware. Also, I tried W2K ADV SRV
and no problem. When W2K3 comes up it imediately warns
thats its sutting down because of an RPC problem

The last link have instructions for applying a patch, do that. The other
links explains the worm, and how to remove it.

Try disconnecting physically from all networks until after setup and you've
installed the new RPC fix
