IIS isn't starting correctly, either

Any suggestions? Microsoft Help and Support links are not really

Russell - thanks for the lead. The problem ended up really being the
metafile.xml as opposed to the metafile.bin

I searched for IIS Config 4275 and followed the solution to retore an
old metafile.xml found at
http://www.networknet.nl/apps/wp/archives/347

Restarted the IIS service, WWW service, and a few other orphaned
services, to make sure they would start, and then rebooted the server
so it would come up "normally".

Rebooted the server, and all services started properly, but the
Monitoring and Reporting webpage on "Server Management" is still
broken, probably because the developers are mucking with SQL on a dot
net nuke website. We'll fix that later.

UH?
this sounds like you are running a Public Website on the SBS box?
(the dot net nuke website)

I highly suggest you do not run any public website on a SBS box
but on another Server in a DMZ isolated from your LAN and your SBS box.

This will help integrity of your network

Thanks for the "suggestion" - It is something that they need to get
working quickly but don't have time to put up the webserver right
now. I realize they're mucking up the server and I'll need to go back
to fix it once they're done.

Well At 5 bucks a month you get hosting that you won't muck up your sbs box.
Heck there are probably free .net nuke sites

Yup
http://dnn4free.com/

have them use this and then they won't mess up the sbs box.
