IE Page Errors (object, javascript...)

I've begun encountering numerous problems in being able to access certain
areas of web pages due to object errors, javascript errors, etc. I wanted to
reinstall IE 6 however the KB articles direct one to reinstall SP2. But, I
can't find an SP2 standalone to download to attempt this.

I would appreciate any and all suggestions!

Before doing a repair/reinstall, try the following and see if it helps:

You will need to uninstall WinXP SP2 from Control Panel -> Add/Remove
Programs and then reinstall Service Pack 2. Follow the information here:

On another note, if you have installed the IE7 Beta2 and then uninstalled
it, you will need to do a full repair reinstall using the original install
CD to fully repair your OS.

Hi,
Try these steps. See if you can fix Javascript without reinstalling SP2.

Check any third-party security programs to see if one of them is blocking
scripts, scripting, active content. Norton Internet Security and a number of
other programs can be configured to block scripts.

Try these two commands from Start> Run> cmd [enter]
regsvr32 vbscript.dll [enter]
regsvr32 jscript.dll [enter]

Reinstall the scripting engine. Go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
for the appropriate download of Windows Script 5.6

you should be able to reinstall it by visiting Windows Update.

Well Jan, I tried your first suggestion and ran IEFix. It fixed it alright.
Not only did it disable IE & Outlook, but rendered System Restore as well!
I'm sending this message via my laptop. Now I'm faced with doing a full
reinstall of Windows. To say the least, IEFix is history!
