This type post is not appropriate here, is not welcome here, and has been
forwarded to the Piracy office for action.

And, nope, your "disclaimer" on your web site does not absolve nor protect
you.

While you're at it, have you turned in Windows Magazine, Windows
Sources, and all the other 'zines that have been publishing the
information for years?

Oh, please. As long as the end-user abides by the terms of the license
agreement, there is no illegality in bypassing product keys or upgrade checks.
That is, if you own a copy of Win95, and you buy a copy of upgrade Win98, and
you install it on a blank hard drive, and you use one of the methods detailed in
my FAQ to bypass the product key and/or upgrade check, there is no "piracy"
whatsoever. The end-user now owns and is using a legal licensed copy of Windows
98.

And as far as the disclaimer in my FAQ goes, note that the following draconian
piece of proposed legislation is not YET law (thank gawd!!!).

Not my call at all.

This is NOT a public news server. Your post originates from Microsoft
hardware on Microsoft systems. Posting means to pirate Microsoft software
on their own server is just plain dumb.

The wheels are already in motion and I could not stop them even if I wanted.
It was your choice....live with it.

After a lot of testing, I've found that Clorox Cleanup and Mighty-man paper
towels are best for cleaning that off your shoes.

That's assuming you were wearing shoes when you put your foot in it.

Just trying to help. <VBSEG>

ever do to you?

If Microsoft decides to censor my posts, then that is their right. I maintain
that these methods can and should *only* be used not to pirate, but to expedite
installs of Win98, for instance if you've lost your key, or if your old set of
WFW diskettes is now unreadable....

>The wheels are already in motion and I could not stop them even if I wanted.

I've been posting information on web sites like this for two years now.
Microsoft knows all about me. Some of my methods (wrt Win95 OSR2) they've even
condoned after the fact!

I understand and respect the role of the MVP on these news groups. If you can't
understand and respect how the information I provide has legitimate uses, as
other MVPs here have let me know privately, then please just leave me alone!

What is the point of being able to install Windows 98 upgrade without a
compliance check? To save 20 or 30 seconds of installation time? The only
people who would benefit from it are those who are not entitled to it! I am
a consumer. When you steal from Microsoft it forces them to keep the price
up for us legal buyers. When you steal from them you are stealing from me!
Thanks a lot buddy. I will make sure that plenty of people get your URL. If
everyone started committing murder, it would not make it right.

I don't. What is an "MVP"? I know about MCSE, and I know about MVP3;
is MVP an MS-qualified tech with AGP slot and 100MHz support? ;-)

Hi Sean,

As someone responsible for monotonous installations of O/S's time and time
again, I just wanted to say thanks for the tip. You've saved me a lot of time
and money. :o)

Heh,Heh

Yes, and usually we are overclocked and have the AGP set to primary in
our bios but due to our chipset we have a tough time busmastering.

But seriously go here to checkout what MVP "means"......

This brouhaha is actually a philosophical conundrum: Every society is based
on the principle that "ANYTHING THAT IS NOT FORBIDDEN BY LAW, IS PERMITTED"
(otherwise there would be random "justice"). Since there is no law (at this
time) against what Sean Irwin did, his posting of the "keyless window" is
proper and legal as long as persons who use his masterkey do not violate
their license agreement with Microsoft. There is no law against making
masterkeys of any kind and I don't believe that there is a provision in MS's
license saying that a licensed user cannot use a masterkey.... There is no
law against a person using a masterkey to enter a car that he legally rented
(e.g. if he locked himself out accidentally). Can we lay this issue to rest?

IMO, it is both appropriate and welcome. Please don't attempt to speak for
anyone other than yourself.

And while you're playing Mr free-speech Policeman, please advise the
Justice Dept about all the antitrust violations where even a fool can see
where Netscape is stepped on.

Try to access ms.com with Netscape and come back here when you have any
success. It used to just hang forever but maybe they made even themselves
naseous. Now, they quickly pass you a non-standard java script that blows
up NS. Tell me it's an accident...

I like how these annoying people like to learn people what it's legal and illegal. They make as mistakes in their life as they can, and when it is for a something like that they have a mouth/fingers to talk/type. They are the Good people on earth... You are replying to a post made by "JJ" in May 2015.

Which is typical of a google-giggler.

Hmmm.

By the way - how are things in Beirut (Lebanon) ?

Are you people glad that Trump won?

Maybe the NEOCON destruction and political interference in the middle
