I'm trying to install VS.Net 2003 Final beta on W2K SP3.
I've tried twice and both times get a small dialog
with "Internal error 25003.". My W2K session is running
inside VMWare.

The error.log contents are:

Chris,

This error is typically the result of one of 2 things:

1) some sort of hardware incompatibility (CDROM)
2) bad media

You should troubleshoot the problem with that in mind. Determining the
following should help to isolate:

* can you successfully install using the media on another machine?
* can you successfully install from another drive?

I don't think that the fact that you're running on VMWare is a problem, but
you never know. If you can test on an OS that is not on VMWare, that could
also provide insight.

If you can't get this up and running, feel free to send me vsmsilog*.txt
from your temp folder. I'd be happy to have a look... Just remove the word
'online' from my displayed email address.

Chris,

I have the same exact problem.

I'm running windows XP in VMware. The screen also says something about
creating VSDevGroup.

Did you find any work arounds?

Thanks,
Brian Freeman
