why is it that animations in the show do not work, and
the type looks ragged after I mail it to the client as a
pps file. Does anyone know a fix?

What version of PowerPoint are you using to build the presentation? What
version are they using to view it? Most likely a disparity between
versions. Older versions don't play all of the features in newer versions.
