outlook cannot connect to server -i get the error message:(0x800ccc32).
ialso cannot forward email from msn.com to another email account , nor can i
send email from msn.com- same message.
i've tried allowing msn.com in the privacy settings of internrt explorer as
recommended, and i've changed the password with my isp[adelphia'net]. there
is no change.
please help : i can terminate my email account with msn but i'll still
need to have messages from the msn address forwarded.

So why can't you use their webmail interface to forward your e-mails? What
happens when you try?

i click on 'send' and i get 'your message has been sent' - after a few
minutes I look in 'sent messages' -the new message is not included.

in outlook i have a new error message which i believe refers to be the email
i just tried to send at 'hotmail'. the complete message is as follows[this
is tedious , i can't copy/paste it]:

Task MSN - Sending reported error (0x800CCC32):'Access to the account was
denied. Verify that your username and password. the server responded 'Invalid
Login'.'

further, i try 'cancel all' so the dialog box will quit interrupting things
like writing this but it won't stop. at this point it's failed 18 times since
i began this reply.
i seem to have forgotten my password which outlook keeps asking for, though
it never used to, no one else uses this machine and early on i it to start up
without the password. i do, however, remember what i thought it was as well
as everything else i've ever concocted for a password to anything else and
none are recognized.

short story long--outlook seems to intercept all my outgoing msn. email
i'm reluctant to call microsoft because i'm broke! one more electronic
withdrawal [before jan.1] will submerge my account and i can't swim!!

thanks for your reponse, vanguard, and happy winter solstice!!

In Hotmail, if you do not click the option "Copy Message to Sent Folder" (at
the bottom) when composing a new mail then you don't get to keep a copy of
it.

Wipe the password from the e-mail account defined in Outlook. Apparently it
is wrong. Also check the username is correct, including capitalization, if
any. Use the same username and password that you used to login using the
webmail interface.

Well, that's the e-mail client that you are using. It doesn't intercept
anything. You give it to Outlook to send.

Turn on the troubleshooting logging in Outlook. Exit Outlook. Make sure
there isn't an old logfile around (%temp%\opmlog.log); if so, delete the old
one. Start Outlook and poll your account. Exit Outlook and look inside the
logfile. You can then see if the login was successful or not.

You might also want to check the e-mail account defined in Outlook. Maybe
you screwed it up. For example, the User Name field should contain
"your...@hotmail.com", not just "yourname".

something worked, i know i had tried this password but i could have mistyped
it
while realizing

i believe you of course, but why would emails written in and sent through
msn.hotmail website end up in outlook's outbox? it may well be the result of
some action on my part but it's not something i was or am now aware of.
maybe a mistake mwde when trying to forward m=sn.com email to adelphia [the
isp]. i'll see if i can figure out what io did.

at 10:30p tonight [it's now 11:10p] outlook sent off all the email that had
accumulated in the outbox this week. and i did not see the error message
dialog box. i'd feel better if i knew what happened, but that's beside the
point. thanks again you da man, vanguard !!

You'll have to install the Outlook Connector.
