Trying to send an Excel 2007 worksheet as an e-mail and I receive the
following error message:

"Microsoft Office Excel - Cannot load the mail service. Check your mail
installation."

In Office 2007 I'm in Excel and select Send/E-mail. I get 2 options: E-mail
and Fax. Click on E-Mail and I get this message.

In Office 2003 I'm in Excel and select "Send To" and I'm prompted with
numerous options ( Mail Recipient, Mail Recipient (as attachment), Exchange
Folder and Internet Fax).

If I choose to Change or Remove Office Installation Options I see that I
have all that was installed by the default installation. The only item that
is not installed is .NET Programmability Support for Excel and Outlook.

Would this have any affect on this problem? Is there something else I need
to be looking at?

Thanks in advance.

You can have only one Outlook, and the interoperability between versions
of Office is where the problem lies. Save the spreadsheet, then e-mail
it as an attachment from Outlook 2003.

Bob I, sorry for the confusion. I was comparing Office products on separate
computers.

Bob I, Sorry for the confusion. I have the two versions on separate
computers.

I'm in the middle of migrating from an old laptop to a newer one. The old
one has Office 2003 Pro and the new one has Office 2007 Pro. Both have Win
XP Pro SP2 on them.

If this is on a strictly Office 2007 installation and there are NO
office 2003 applications involved, someone familiar with Office 2007
will have to assist you.

Bob I, Yes. This is strictly an Office 2007 Pro installation on Windows XP
Pro SP2.

Thanks for your time.

Tried sending a Word doc via the E-mail feature in Word 2007 and received the
following:

"Microsoft Office Word - mapi32.dll is an invalid Extended MAPI library."

Many of us are having the same problem will little conclusion as to a
solution. But one thing we all seem to have in common is that we are running
the Exchange Server Management Tools. Do you have the Exchange Server
Management Tools installed? You might want to look at the threads under
"mapi32.dll" in Word subjects to be able to follow the thread.

allhart - Yes! I do have the Exchange Server Management Tools installed.

Thanks for the post! I will take a look at that thread.

-- I read a reply of yours dated back in 2007. I have the same exact problem
with a error message stating that email could not be sent, MAPI not
configured. I have Office 2007 installed and tried the help suggestion of
saving and closing both word and Outlook, then reopen to establish a new
connection, but it still failed. any solutions you know to correct this
problem, John

I don't think they are around any more. Perhaps you may start a new
thread listing your issue and particulars of the setup. 2 years is an
eternity in the software update history.
