Office 12.0.1

I was just working fine with my entourage last 2 days ago but the next day i found the message Entourage database failed to open
I tried all what i can do the microsoft 6 Steps as well and moving data to another mac
But Still the same problem is
Error Corruption Opening Database [-39""]
can any one tell me that what i can do
Microsoft saying that there are some other third party tool for repair
Its a very big issue for me

Move the 'Microsoft' folder out of your local preferences folder and try
again. If this fails, end of file means the file is too corrupted to
rebuild or you do not have enough disk space.

Error Message: An error occurred while attempting to rebuild your
database

Database Size: 4.26gb

Date: 21/9/2010

I was just working fine with mac a power failure i restart the mac
after that Entourage crashed
I got the following error message: "Entourage cannot access your data.
To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild your database."

I have subsequently attempted to rebuild my database several times and
each time I get the error message " An error occurred while attempting
to rebuild your database" > I have tried various workarounds that
others have tried microsoft 6 steps (googled the issue) and am still
unable to fix the issue.

When I use the Microsoft Database Utility, I am able to get through
steps 1, 2, and 3 successfully and then I get about 3/4 of the way
through step 4 when I get the error " An error occurred while
attempting to rebuild your database" and the only option available to
me is to choose Done.

Like most others, this database is very significant to me and I need
to find a workaround - any assistance would be greatly appreciated and
welcomed.

The third party tool that is available in the market is Stellar Phoenix Entourage Repair software that extensively scans the damaged or corrupt entourage database and rebuild it effectively.

Hey,
I too faced this similar issue with my Entourage database. I was very disappointed when I got
"ERROR: Failed to open database [Head] ERROR: Corruption opening database [16003:""]"

and when I tried to fixed it got an another error

"Error Corruption Opening Database [-39""]

If is very disappointing when find your database inaccessible. I tried all the possible way to resolve this error and finally I got an post that help me to fix it. Now I am happy that I said good bye to this error. I sharing the post link with hope it will be helpful to you.

The Error 39 comes when you have damaged identity of the database files and it becomes unable to rebuild the database. Then you need to Move the 'Microsoft' folder out of your local preferences folder and try again. If it fails, end of file means the file is too corrupted to rebuild or you do not have enough disk space.

Then you need to rebuild the damaged database that exceeded size limit. (10 gig DB won't rebuild, Mac OS X v10.6.8, numerous DB on time machine that all say unable to rebuild, though they worked last week)

In order to rebuild the entourage database, you have to quit all the applications. And then press the Alt key from the keyboard and start Entourage 2008. Continue to press the alt key till you see the Database Utility window. Then select the database and then click on rebuild database and then click on Continue. After that it will open the rebuilding main identify window and display its progress. After the process gets completed, you would get the message "Your database was successfully rebuilt." After that click on Ok. And then check whether the issue is resolved or not. If you still face the same problem then in that case, it can be fixed with the help of Entourage Database Repair Toll. Using this application, you can easily repair the corrupt entourage database. For more details visit:

In order to Rebuild Entourage 2008 Database, you can use inbuilt database utility of Microsoft Entourage to rebuild Entourage database and to solve the corruption issues.

Go through the following steps to rebuild entourage:

Step 1: Close all Office applications.

Step 2: Open Database Utility (Start Entourage while holding the OPTION key on the keyboard)

Step 3: Select the database that you want to rebuild (Database Utility window provides the option to select the database)

Step 4: Select Rebuild Database option and click on continue option to start the process of rebuilding.

Step 5: After completion of the rebuild process, a message "Your database was successfully rebuilt." will appear on the screen

Step 6: Click Done.

Step 7: Click Quit.
