Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I can not connect to our exchange server (2007) from outside our company's network. I always get an error 18597, stating that entourage can't connect to the exchange server at all.

This works however:
- access from outside using a windows-based Outlook client
- access from outside using OWA (using Safari on my Mac, https)
- access from inside the network using entourage
- sync using my iPhone

I tried all versions of server entries in the entourage config (owa.company.com, owa.company.com/owa, owa.company.com/exchange, even the above followed by my email address).

Is this most likely a config problem of the exchange server, the firewall, my Mac or entourage? Any ideas? Thank you!

I'm not sure if the link you posted worked for the initial poster, but it hasn't worked for us.
I have a user that has successfully connect to Exchange on his laptop but, when he tries to create a new identity to connect to Exchange on his desktop, the program freezes & he's has to force a stop.
We've tried all the methods mentioned by the initial poster as well as following the instructions in the link provided above. Are there any other suggestions or reasons that Entourage won't connect to Exchange? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Is anyone monitoring this forum? It's been almost a week since my initial post & I haven't heard anything. This is a pretty serious issue for us so any response or info. will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

First you posted on another posters thread. Always a bad idea. Even similar
problems can result in different solutions then the thread turns into a
confusing jumble.

Exchange is not my area of expertise so I gave you a link that should have
helped. Otherwise you'll have to wait until an Exchange experts comes along
to help. This is not an official Microsoft site. We are all volunteers here.

Error -18587

This is probably because the e-mail address you typed in the Exchange
account dialog does not exactly match the one the server expects. Since the
addresses don't match, it doesn't allow you to send.

Error -18597, can also happen when a user's Active Directory account
password has expired.

Resetting the password - say through OWA - then launching Entourage
resolves.
