Everuthing is working fine until today and the error message arrived.
Checked with Time Warner, I can receive but not send - I urgently need
to resolve this problem with Leopard OS.

Mu question is the same as the previous post on this list below.

The post you are quoting is vastly insufficient to identify the
problem...
It doesn't look like an Entourage error (though I don't have the exact
error message). It looks like an issue with the SMTP server.
I'd say it's either down, or the parameters have changed. You might need
to check with your ISP for the settings for the SMTP server (the server
used to send e-mails) and change your settings accordingly.

Possible causes:

You may get this error because the server does not recognize the senders
email address as being valid.

SMTP server requires authentication. Open your account and click on Advanced
settings under SMTP. Make sure these setting are correct. You can get the
correct settings from your ISP.

Sorry, but our info on this error is very limited.

Road Runner indicated that the error message is due to incorrect email
addresses;
however when authenticated - the error message comes up.
I seems it relates to the SMPT server over which we have no control.

I am working on a research project and unable to send info
in units of less then 50 names per contact group.

The number of emails you can send depends on the Host or your ISP. Some
indicate no more than 100 emails in a batch and no more than 500 in a day.
Others limit it to 50 per message.

Get this script, Split Recipients X. This script will replicate messages
into the number of copies needed to comply with an ISP's maximum number of
recipients allowed per outgoing message.

I have had this happen and have been able to isolate it to a specific
e-mail address I was trying to send to. In that case, that user
server was down. Seems odd to me that I wouldn't just get a delivery
fialure message to that account but...once I removed that account from
the list I was able to send. Once that users server issue was
resolved I could send to them again.
Computer...ugh!

I too just encountered this problem. Mine was a simple fix: I had a 2
where a @ should have been in one of the email addresses I was trying
to send out.

I use Road Runner and got the same error message today trying to send a message to several people at once. Turns out the email address for one of the people in the group was bad and it wouldn't go through to the others as long as that email was part of the list. Once that address was removed the message and attachment went through without a problem.

I too have had that problem with the error message using Entourage and Roadrunner as a mail server, but shouldn't the program allow all the other "good" email addresses to be sent and just return an error message on the "bad" email address, like I get when using my PC at work?
