I have the above error ( sometimes NOT always ) when trying to
omyServer=CREATEOBJ("MyServer.Server")
from a second or third client via remote Automation...
No problem with the first client!
Network with WinXP Home and Win98, tcp-ip.
my Server and client application written in Vfp6sp5.
Remote Automation Connection Manager with "Allow All Remote Creates" into
the Client Access tab!

Afake no help from www.support.microsoft.com
Any ideas?

TIA,

Have a nice day (or night),

Hi Nick:

I found a case similar to this one. The resolution was to uninstall McAfee
anti virus. Are you running McAfee or any other anti virus software on
that machine? If so, I would try testing the application with the AV
disabled or uninstalled.

I hope this helps.

Nick,
That value means - "No such interface supported" or E_NOINTERFACE. Doing a search on the MSDN KB (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;kbhowto&sd=GN&ln=EN-US&FR=0) with:

Hi, Rick
I saw these articles, but it is not my case. Only the KB269116 says
something, but it is not my case!
The error started when I run the "clireg32.exe" from the client side to
registering a new version of my remote server (written in VFP6sp5 both my
new & old server version and client version). After that the old server
continues to start OK from 2 or 3 clients with the "autmgr32.exe"
automatically launched to the client side, but the new server some times
starts OK some times gives the 0x80004002 before the "autmgr32.exe" starts!
At this point if one of the other clients logout, this client starts the new
server OK. But now the first Client has the 0x80004002 error! Another time 2
or 3 clients at the same time can start the server OK! Madness!

Nick.
