I am trying to link the contents of a fixed cell from one
worksheet to another using the copy/paste special
commands. The link generation works fine, except that if
I cut and paste the cell with the original data in some
other location on the worksheet, the link still points to
the data, and is updated to reflect the cell's new
location.
I need to be able to specify a link from a fixed
location, say C5. If I cut and paste C5 to C10, the link
should read no data, since I moved the cell. If I cut
and paste some other cell into C5, the link will show
that new data. I want the link to reflect whatever data
is put into the C5 cell regardless of whether the data
was put there by typing or by cut and paster of other
cells.

Is there a way to do it.
Thank-you,
Dan Dina

I found that the only way around that was to copy (not
cut) the cell and then clear the old cell. Cutting moves
the reference with it, while copying does not.
