On the Crm Server, the event log shows this message:
Message delivery to the host '65.54.244.40' failed while delivering to the
remote domain 'hotmail.com' for the following reason: The remote server did
not respond to a connection attempt.
What could be the reason. Exchange specialists say it has nothing to do with
exchange, but all with Ms Crm. The mails never reach the exchange server, in
none of the exchange server's logging those mails are found.
Do you have the SMTP service installed on your CRM server. If not you
probably need it.
If you do have SMTP service installed check the C:\Inetpub\mailroot
queue ad badmail directories. If there are files in there then SMTP
cannot send out. You will need to set the smarthost in SMTP to the
name or IP address of your Exchange server and then restart the SMTP
service. Your Exchange specialists should be able to help you.
If mails are still not being sent then it could be you Exchange server
is not allowing the CRM server to relay emails and you will need to
nicely ask your Exchange specialist to allow the CRM server to relay
mail on the Exchnage SMTP service.
