Error 5: invalid procedure call in Packaging Wizard

Have seen alot of unresolved discussions regarding Error 5: invalid
procedure call in Packaging Wizard. I had the same issue, though was
working off a mapped drive (E: in this case, with admin permissions),
and the only way I was able to finally get around it was to build the
file to the C: drive.

I vaguely recall this issue coming up many times in the last as many months,
and that Frank Miller (MS) was only able to give general advice in his
replies. In other words, he had no idea. (but... he was the only MS person
even willing to respond... full marks for that)

Neither do I (know), but then I don't work for Microsoft. (and I never struck
it)

One KB article is OFFXPDEV: "Invalid Procedure..." Packaging DB w/
Linked Tables [Q304652] but yeah, that didn't seem to help a lot of
people.

I vaguely recall that Frank Miller (representing MS) claimed to have actually
used the stuff (PDW). So, where and how did he?

(you will be aware of what I think about his claims) I do not pretend to claim
more than I know. I may project untested suggestions, but at least I imagine I
say as much. PSS is not doing a very good job, including that as far as I know
Win2k SP2 is the last release? <vbsg>
