Hi,

Is it possible to get historical forecasts? This data appears to be available on the data.gov.uk website however this must be individually queried for each hour of every day. Is it possible to get the forecasts over a period of time?

Thanks

Hi Vicky

At the moment data.gov.uk is the only place that archives our forecast data as far as I am aware. It's something we are looking into for the future if we think that there would be a broad requirements for it.

OK,  now I'm curious.  What's the application of historical forecasts?     For research uses (are there any others?) it may be that BADC can help.

Thanks for the response Clare,

quick question about the format of the data stored on data.gov.uk:

forecasts are available for download hourly (time of issue) and give a start time and a time step. Do you know if the time step is from the start time or from the time of issue?

Thanks,
Vicky

The time step is based on the start time not the time of issue. So if the start time is 12:00 on 06/03/15 and time step is T+24 then that time step is for 12:00 on 07/03/15.

Hope that helps

Clare
