The DataPoint radar feed went down at 22:45 last night and remains unavailable this morning. I reported to the Service Desk at 06:30 today. The same problem has occurred a number of times since the radar feed was introduced. The error message returned when requesting the XML file is:

Cache entry could not be found for Observation in getCapabilities Primary Cache

I have discussed this in the past and asked whether steps have or are being taken to increase the resilience of the feed because my view is it is not reliable enough to be turned into a commercial offering. Is there any news on what is being done to improve matters?

Thanks

Brian

Brian,

I can't advise at the moment on steps planned to improve resilience. However a process is in place to prevent this error from occurring, but obviously this did not work last night. There were a number of occasions last year when this error happened, but it has not been reported for some time. From your experience is it still occurring fairly regularly?

Colin

Colin,

TBH I'm not sure how frequently the problem is occurring. It was ironic that it should occur last week when there was a lot of activity with thunderstorms in the south east and outbreaks of rain in the west. On dry days it works a charm -:)

Best Regards

Brian
