specifying a range of dates for a location in the API string

Hello,

I would like to know how to specify in the API string to receive daily 24hr summary for a range of historical dates e.g. 1^st Jan 2015 to 31^st Dec 2015 for a specific location ID. I want to use weather variables in machine learning of local crime rates. Sorry if this request for info is trivial. Thank you.
