I've been using ProtoParadigm 3mm ABS filament. I've used up about 8lbs of it, as well as some filament that came with my printer.
[not a MM, but shares a history...)
I've got some upcoming projects/orders that will use up my remaining stock, so I went looking to see what was available.
I'm looking for equivalent, or better results than I've been getting from the ProtoParadigm filament

I checked the suppliers mentioned in other threads - in no particular order.
My notes below also compare shipping cost to my zip code (08527) which vary widely between suppliers
I'm using pricing for 3mm natural ABS which is usually the same as other colors, sometimes cheaper.
If you've used any of these suppliers please comment about what you thought of the filament

I though that Stratasys owned makerbot?

UltiBots LLC offers premium filament at competitive prices.  Our filament is manufactured by Village Plastics which is now Owned by 3D Systems.  3D Systems owns MakerBot and we sell comparable quality filament for less.  We stock 3mm and 1.75mm ABS and PLA in a variety of colors.  Sure you can buy cheaper filament BUT you get what you pay for.

Our ABS Natural - 3mm Spool sells for $34.94 and ships to 08527, New Jersey UPS for $11.92.  2 spools to 08527 for $12.51.

Happy Printing,

They do.   3DS owns Cube.  Quite a bit of buzz at CES at all of the booths partcularly over the 3DS Chefjet food printer.  3DS just picked up Village last month.  Village started years ago as a supplier of plastic welding rod and supply most of the ABS used in 3D printing that is drawn in the US. I don't know where they source the PLA base but the ABS base is Chi Mei  Polylac PA747 and the polycarbonate is Che Mei Wonderlite.  Che Mei is a best of breed supplier of those kinds of materials.   Village are the big dogs of filament in the US. Brad uses them, Lulzbot, Ultimachine and Makerbot did pre Stratasys. Stratasys controls their own material manufacturing (the high end printers use proprietary cartridges) so I don't know if they switched although they did release some colors late last year that I didn't see when I was talking to Village.  I use Village PLA, ABS and PC (from Ultimachine) after starting with lower cost import material and won't use anything else.

We had the discussion about US filament suppliers, and I was hit by some
bad experience with filament.

So let me ask what is a good, reliable, and affordable source for ABS
3mm filament in Germany / EU?

Good means having sticking layers, and no warping, being able to print
at low temperature and with low temp. heated bed.

Reliable means a supplier or brand I can re-order with no hassle and I
have not to try and buy.

Affordable means $30 to $40 / 25€ to 35€, less is appreciated if it fits
the above, more if it's special [would like to be able to really print
transparent].

I run a print yesterday with the heated bed set by accident to 40°C only
and I had no warping and it was good sticky to the bed. The pieces were
very strong, more like pressed plastic. Unfortunately the source for
this filament is out of the business nor is it a brand.

greetings kai

I've used Formfutura (Netherlands) for ABS. I may have hit a bad roll on the black, it looks like it's been slightly hot in portions when spooled, so some sections have been deformed, but other then that it seems good.
I might have got a replacement roll if I asked, but I haven't bothered contacting them, the roll sat for quite a while before I tried it. Except the minor roundness issue, that caused a few jams before i spotted it, it's been good.
I also have some other colors that have been problem free so far, so I think the black was just bad luck that it slipped through QA.

(ABS does stink though. This is my first batch, so I haven't been able to compare, but the red roll I have is eye-watering.
I'm building a carbon filter/fan combo before I print more of that stuff indoors.)

We (IC3D Printers) started commercially extruding our own ABS filament last Fall here in Ohio after getting tired of using plastic welding rod in our printers.  We're just a few 3d printing enginerds (Larry K. and I have built ~50 MM's) trying to make the world's best filament and offering it at a premium price that's 100% backed.  Because of all the requests, we're starting up a second line and dedicating it to PLA.  Hope to have product that meets our standards by August.  It took us a couple of months, but we've worked out the few kinks and have been well reviewed on Amazon.

Currently, we're also supplying to several 3D printer makers including Airwolf3D and MakerGear, and GetPrinting3D and their print shops.

Send me a message via our site and we'll get a spool sent to you for free to try out.

Michael
