Presentation: A Level Playing Field for Mobile Application Development
Have a great idea for an iOS application but don’t want to learn Objective-C?  How about an Android application but don’t want to have to endure Eclipse?  Are you a .NET developer who feels left out of the mobile game?  If you answered ‘YES!’ to any of the above questions, you should come to this session and check out Xamarin Studio.  Leveraging Mono, an open source and cross platform implementation of Microsoft’s .NET Framework, Xamarin Studio makes it possible for you to write mobile applications for the iOS and Android platforms using C# and .NET.  Furthermore, you’re just a stone’s throw away from Windows Phone.  Xamarin Studio enables developers to share up to tens of thousands of lines of source code across platforms, in some cases up to 80% of the application’s source.  That’s code that you don’t have to design, write, test and maintain for each platform.  Be kind to yourself, start using Xamarin Studio!
