LaunchMemphis and Purple Ant proudly present “Intro to #memtech,” a monthly meeting of technologists and entrepreneurs that explores established and emerging platforms. If you’ve ever wondered “How do I get started using Ruby on Rails?” or any other technology, then “Intro to #memtech” is for you!

New technologies can be a daunting task, Where do you start? What are the essentials you need to know? What gimmicks does a particular platform have? What is the implementation process?  “Intro to #memtech” will answer these questions and more, by offering attendees a 1-hour crash course on a different topic every month.

Over the course of the class, held the first Monday of each month (unless that Monday is a holiday in which case it falls on the second Monday), local programming all-stars will teach you the basics of programming languages, and development frameworks.

The first in this series in an Intro to Java, and you can register for it here: http://memtechjava-eorg.eventbrite.com/

Future presentations include: Ruby on Rails, Python, WordPress, PHP, and .Net

September Presenter: Tom Langston

Tom Langston currently resides in the Cordova area.  He works as a
.NET developer for ServiceU, a provider of web based event management,
payment processing, and ticket sales solutions.

While work has taken him into the depths of the Microsoft web stack,
he still loves learning about a variety of other technologies.  He
helps lead the Memphis Java User Group and is an active enthusiast in
a number of other programming languages.

Thanks,
