https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2ekzZZrxVUklU35gphQAoBee6FBeSWdgI haven't watched the JCrete sessions yet, but among the JVMLS sessions, these ones seem most germane to mechanical sympathy:
- Adventures in Parametric Polymorphism (an update on the progress of Valhalla, aka value types in the JVM)
- Going Native (better native code interop)
- Machine Code Snippets (exposing small chunks of machine code to the JIT, allowing faster adoption of new instructions like the thousands of variants of vector ops)
- Vector API for Java (high-level vector math API, based on the aforementioned machine code snippets)
- VM Futures (ideas on what the JVM may do in the next n years)
