I swung by Black Marsh after finishing my census at Swan Creek (more on that later...) and had a very nice afternoon. The highlight was when three COMMON REDPOLLS flew into some sweet gum trees above the overflow. They worked the trees for a few minutes and then took off, heading northeast. I wouldn't chase them but who knows, maybe they came back.
Other good birds: Virginia Rail, Barred Owl, Brown Creeper, Winter Wren, Myrtle Warbler, Rusty Blackbird.
