Hi all,
Weak cold front and sun brought birders out to Wheaton Regional Park; we went around for much of the morning with Linda Friedland and Susan Hunt. It also brought in some migrants, most obvious was a enthusiastic invasion of Baltimore Orioles. At least a dozen were feeding in vines on the "ridge" - the sunny higher area bordering the gravel lot at Shorefield - and we saw at least 8 more near Pine Lake. Some warblers as well, multiple Redstarts, Black-and-whites and two nice Canadas. Later, Barry and I found a Northern Waterthrush in the Brookside Gardens native plant area. Barry had an early Least Flycatcher near Pine Lake. Hopefully, a prelude to the days ahead.
