Gday,

Can anyone give any guidance on interpreting the lambdas for categorical variables in a Maxent model? I've got a copy of Peter Wilson's excellent document on interpreting lambdas, and understand how to interpret continuous variables but it doesn't strictly provide guidance on categorical variables. For instance, here's an example.
(Corrine2006_norway_noSea=2.0), 0.5928227907180658, 0.0, 1.0
(Corrine2006_norway_noSea=12.0), -0.1634392531830108, 0.0, 1.0
(Corrine2006_norway_noSea=21.0), 0.5811545532309814, 0.0, 1.0
(Corrine2006_norway_noSea=23.0), 0.5594764392106396, 0.0, 1.0
Is the interpretation the same as for threshold values? ie if (Corrine2006_norway_noSea=2.0), lambda=0.5928227907180658; if (Corrine2006_norway_noSea=12.0) lambda= 0.5928227907180658 minus 0.1634392531830108 ?

Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Claire
