Hi everyone!

My name is Nathan Higa and I am one of the Producers of Mini Maker Faire Honolulu.  Some of you are returning and for some this will be a new experience.  I am extremely happy with the mix.

Over the next few weeks I will be sending you more information about the event itself and some of the logistics involved.  For now I just wanted to say hi and give you a few tips.

The signup form said the typical booth size was 10' x8' and this includes one table and two chairs.  However there is a lot of flexibility.  If you are doing a hands-on activity or your display is large, we can increase the size of your space.  I do ask that you give some thought about it now.  I create a floor plan based on discussions with the Makers.  Power requirements, lighting, and other factors come into play.  It makes it difficult to make changes on the day of the event when everyone is trying to set up.

The Mini Maker Faire will be in the Sullivan Center at 'Iolani school.  It is a 4 story building and we will be on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th floor.  There is one elevator, but it isn't a large one.  We might have a couple of small hand trucks but if you have your own, I would highly recommend that you bring it.

Start promoting the event on social media and let people know that they can sign up for free tickets at our website:  http://honolulu.makerfaire.com/  I have attached our flyer to this email.  Feel free to print and distribute as you see fit.

Five weeks away!
