Every Friday at 6 PM, in Room 219 of the Ka’a’ike building at the college:

Interested Makers are invited to attend a public facilitated learning workshop to learn and build projects based on Arduinos  The workshop supports all skill levels.  Intermediate and advanced students will scope out an Arduino-based project to build.

The facilitated learning portion of the workshop will focus on using pulse width modulation (PWM) to increase the control capability of the Arduino.

Thanks James.  These classes are great and we are very lucky to have Laura with her expertise and boxes of goodies helping us.  Note: it is in the building mountainside of the cafeteria- not the engineering building, upstairs.

Looking forward to it and please help spread the word as it is fun and a killer example of what Makers can offer the community.

NOTE TO MAKERS:
The meeting location has changed.  It is likely to continue to do so until we find a good more permanent home for these and other workshops.
Please see the blog at http://MauiMakers.com for information on where and when the Arduino and other workshops will be held.

I will bring some basic kits for people who are new and want to get started with arduino.
Please remember to BYOComputer - not just so you have one to work with at class,
but also so you can keep your 'sketches' (programs) and have it ready when you get your own arduino.

Has this been updated on the website so people know NOT to go to the college?

The July 18th event post is on MauiMakers.com, but I don’t think there is one for the eTextiles this friday.
I don’t think the Meetup.com page has been updated.

The perennial question/issue is how to update all these places when we have an event?  It is a manual procedure and not well followed.   Anyone who would like to automate this is quite welcome to step and do so.

Laura, Jerry, Brian & James:

Thanks for the arduino workshops - I haven't been able to attend a lot of them the last while due to a schedule conflict, but really enjoyed the ones I attended. I just flew back to the mainland with the family, but prior to the rush out I realized I still had one of the knock off Arduino leonardo kits. I put it in the mail before I left along with a useful Altoids mint tin. :) I addressed it to Doug Allan's Island Sign / Maui Coworking address as I saw that was the most recent meeting place.

Thanks for the group activities and best wishes with getting a regular space for future tinkering.

Ben,

Thank for letting us know.  I haven't tried using an Altoids tin, sounds like a good case.

It was enjoyable having you here... look forward to your return and/or visits!

Aloha

Ben, thanks for the note and we are glad you enjoyed the classes and came out.  Glad we got to meet you and get smarter concurrently :)  Also thanks for honorably returning the arduino!

Fairwinds and smooth travels,
Brian
