Maui Makers Inc has just received a loan for 1 year of a small CNC Mill with tooling. In order for us to make use of the machine we need to get it up to the shop. To do this we need to have the hallway cleared of Tables and other stuff. Since Vern from the building will be using the fork lift to raise it to our level. To clean and sort the stuff that is in the way will require some strong bodies

Our plan is to do this work this weekend so I can coordinate with Vern during the week to lift the Mill up and take the old water heater down.  Once it is upstairs we will need a champion to learn and run/teach it to the Makers

Very cool!  I wish I was on Maui for this.  I'm not sure of what type of machine it is but hopefully it has a system to flow coolant over cutting tool.  Having machined many parts and trained an employee to use our CNC mill (many years ago..), lack of proper chip removal and coolant angle/flow was usually the culprit of a tool breaking.  Clamping the material properly and running the toolpath first either on a screen or with table lowered are also key elements to avoiding problems.

Call/email me for anything about machining or setup.  Hopefully it came with a good set of clamping tools.  For cutting fluid, something like this would work great http://www.amazon.com/Jancy-Slugger-10208W-Soluable-Cutting/dp/B003EYVE9K  Although buy it through MM link ;)

Congrats on the early present!

And yes it does have fluid feed and cycling. It comes in its custom built (ply)wood cabinet to contain chips and work area

Jerry This post is to get strong bodies at the MakerSpace this weekend  Until The hallway is cleared so I can roll it down it the unit stays downstairs This might also require a trip with a truck to the container to put those tables where they should have stayed.  After all when we get the new space the hallway will need to be cleared to move stuff down again

I'm available for this.  I'm wide open this weekend so just let me know what time you're doing it.  How many people are required?
