What exactly a “sensitive leak test” means ?
Does it means pneumatic test ?
Best Regards,

345.8 Sensitive Leak Test The test shall be in accordance with the Gas and Bubble Test method speci fied in the BPV Code, SectionV, Article 10,
(a) The test pressure shall be at least the lesser of
105 kPa (15 psi) gage, or 25% or the design pressure.
(b) The pressure shall be gradually increased untila gage pressure the lesser of one-half the test pressure or 170 kPa (25 psi) is attained,
The minimum test pressure mandated by B31.3 is the lesser of 15 psi or 25% of the design pressure (when design pressure is less than 60 psi). ohm guru namasivaya --- On Tue, 12/1/09, Singh Rishi (TIPO - QA/QC) <R.S...@Panipat.ticb.com> wrote: |
Dear all,
On this matter I would like to add is that along with the code requirements, it to certain extent depends on the interpretation and evaluation of the inspector. If the inspector deems it necessary as per the actual condition/ sensitivity of job ( type and thickness of coating may hamper/effect the detection of minor leaks) that the joints be left without painting, and the client agrees, then it has to be like this.
From the below mails as per my interpretation it is neither mandatory to paint nor not to paint.
Regards
Rajneesh
