MSMQ Competing Consumer(Transactional Remote Receive)

Hi

In the past with MSMQ to implement competing consumers, you had to have service which would forward the messages on to the workers.

However with MSMQ 4, you have this(Transactional Remote Receive):

I am wondering why the distributor is talked about for MSMQ competing consumers in the documentation? Can't Transactional Remote Receive be used to implement multiple consumers? Is there performance issue with this method? Or just not got around to implementing and testing this?

It is a feature that was never implemented, and MSMQ is no longer supported in MassTransit v3.
