Interesting article on convergent evolution and butterflies

Summary of article:

Before there were flowering (nectar-producing) plants, there was a race of insects called Kalligrammatids lacewings which looked like and acted like our modern butterflies. 
The Kalligrammatids lacewings died out long before our butterflies evolved.

At least, I found it interesting.
