Although we unfortunately missed the scheduled MBC walk in Gardner today due to car trouble, we were able to get out closer to home later in the day. Many of our favorite fields from past years are now being leased for growing cow corn.  Still other fields had recently been mowed (hay). But we located a few nice patches by driving from place to place from 1:30- 4 p.m. and found the following :

 

1    Black Swallowtail

8    Cabbage White

16  Clouded Sulphur

6    Pearl Crescent

4    Great Spangled Fritillary

11  Common Ringlet

4    Common Wood Nymph

1    Red-spotted Purple

2    Eastern Tailed-Blue

1    Eastern comma

2    Peck's Skipper

1    Least Skipper

2    Unidentified skippers
