Hi,

Today at Arnold Arboretum, from 10AM-12:30PM, in and around Kent Field, along the creek, and a ten-minute visit to the top of Bussey Hill, I saw the following butterfly species:

9 Monarch
4 Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
7 Pearl Crescent
1 American Copper
9 Cabbage White
1 Little Wood-Satyr
1 Eastern Tailed-blue
11 Least Skipper
1 Northern Broken-Dash
3 European Skipper
6 Tawny-edged Skipper (FOY)
4 Peck's Skipper
1 Dun Skipper

Kent Field has two large patches of Mountain Mint and Boneset, which attracted many bees and skippers, as well as the American Copper. Some of the plants along the creek are Joe-pye Weed, Milkweed, goldenrod, purple loosestrife, hawkweed and clover.

Overcast with a little sun and a few raindrops, 75-80 degrees
