Dear all,
I've been delaying this post for too long now... so here we go.
RouteConverter is a desktop application that helps to convert, edit, enrich and share routes, tracks and waypoint lists.
It focuses on the casual user and has a large user base of 2,5 to 3 millions users that use it during the year.
RouteConverter has been in action development since 2007 and saw more than 50 releases since then. It used the
Google Maps API for the map and some scary integrations of web browsers via JDIC, Eclipse SWT and JavaFX.
And then a user pointed my to mapsforge and I saw a way out of these shaky integrations, the online dependency,
and the dependency on the Google Maps API. So now there is an Offline Edition next to the well-known Online Edition.
Since this is a dev list, some number dropping The latest RouteConverter 2.16.1 uses
- Java 7+
- mapsforge 0.5.2
- Brouter 1.2
- GraphHopper 0.5
- Uses elevation data from Jonathan de Ferranti and NASA SRTM
- Easy download of Androidmaps, Freizeitkarte, Mapsforge maps, Openandromaps and Themes
- GPL license
to contact me, help, translate, give feedback :-)
Best regards
