Alternatively, you can have MapInfo to do the trick, toggling between
coordinate systems using Set CoordSys statement...

Wondering if you need a mapbasic programme, or else you wanted to do the conversion with mapinfo tables..

Thanks

Coming in late to this, but I believe you are looking for tools that come with MapInfo:
Use the Coordinate Extractor tool, via the Tool Manager.

Or, if you have Discover, it is a snap using their Data Utilities>Update Coordinates.

Hi!

At the equator, one of 360 degrees are about 111111 m.
Longitude degrees goes to from this to 0 at the poles.
Latitude degrees are roughly the same, that is 111111 m long.

My point is, the question
how can we convert coordinate (X,Y) from meters to degrees
is impossible to answer.

Cheers, Mats.E

G'day

If you want to throw money at the problem - you could do worse than
trying Franson Coordtrans Pro. It allows you to batch process files of
coordinates and covert into a whole range of different formats. I just
checked and it costs $US64. The non-Pro version allows you to do them
one at a time for $25.

If you only ever need to use it once - there is a 7 day free trial.

Cheers
