importing XML/GML files in MapInfo

Hi list readers,

 

I have attempted to import an XML file in MapInfo with no sucess however. The error message simply says that the file cannot be used. I have opened the file in a text editor, and know, that it is geographical data. Is there some restriction on the XML/GML version and if so, how can I tell what version the file is? Do the header rows from the file (below) tell me anything about this?

 

I have no experience with XML/GML, so please keep it simple :-)

MapInfo supports importing GML 2.1.x. I have attached an example of such a file, that can be imported into MapInfo.

 

Your file may be a version 1.2, but I have never worked with GML 1.x, so I can't say for sure.

Hi there,

I'm also having troubles importing GML files into MapInfo.
The only error message reported is "unable to process this layers
schema".

I'd post the gml & xsd files but don't know how to do this.
