We used a French cleat system to hang the storage shelves in the woodshop and 3d printer area.  This video shows an extension of that idea for individual tools. May provide some ideas for additional storage in those areas. Could run an additional cleat on the wall.

Looks like a beautiful and functional system!

Is there any wood laying around I could use for this to clean up some of the power tool clutter in the woodshop? I fixed the table saw fence and start switch (well, "fixed" is a bit of an exaggeration, I drilled and tapped the fence guide rail and hacked together/zip-tied a mount for the very-broken switch housing) to get started on this, now I just need some wood. Also, do we have a stud finder laying around?

That was you! Thanks, Victor. Table saw getting functional is fantastic.

I thought we had a stud finder around, but I just looked for it with Austin and couldn't find it. Studs are metal and 16" on center, though, so if you can find a screwhole popping out of our unprofessional drywall work that's a place to start.

There is a bit of wood around, basically anything that isn't tagged with a name in the big room or the woodshop is fair game. The pictures below have some piles of wood that you should check out. If you need 2x4 material then it's OK to take some from the pile earmarked for the recording booth, but please leave me a note telling me how many were taken so I know what to get more of.

If you need to buy some wood specifically for this that's OK too, and please keep the receipts to get re-imbursed (either in person if you see a board member around, or scan the receipts and send to tyler at accou...@makerspace.ca and he can send you money via paypal.) Please ask if you need more than say $50 or $60 for this. I presume the french cleat style shelves that Sandy sent a picture of is what you're using for a rough design?

Excited to see some more organization in there!

I can bring a stud finder if you still need it.
