Good progress on the “big” 3D printer project today:
-got the X & Y motors moving, which took some rewiring of the power
-also got a variety of extruder parts from amazon- some of which may get used on the Prusa, or maybe this.
All said & done, the XY build area on this will work out to roughly 10”x10”- a big improvement over the Monoprice’s 4.7”x4.7"
Next steps:
-X&Y endstops- there seems to be a Y opto endstop in there, but no clue how it’s set up. It could probably be replaced by a Reprap opto endstop with little trouble.
-Need to figure out how the Z-axis will fit onto the XY axis assembly
-thinking about getting a decent 8mm leadscrew (or two) & bearings from ebay:
