Regarding the Akron Civic Hackathon, we could show the Urban Sensor Hacks hardware prototype, photos of the working Temp/Humidity/Dew Point prototype, and maybe a bit about Arduinos in general.

Hey Ross,

Makers Alliance is _most_ welcome to participate in Akron Civic Hackathon, potentially even be recognized as a partner at the event. Please let me know if you all are interested.

Before the event, it would make sense to contact folks in the city and let them know about your projects to determine if they might be interested in hands on demos.
If you wish to research that, cold call the govt. managers, I'd encourage it as then it would be even more applicable and will make civic impact directly to their divisions.

My goal in running Akron Civic Hackathon is - ' to get the product owners by end of sunday to say - boy that did add value to us' where value can be as small or as big as they'd like to define it

I have sponsored (out of my pocket) 7 color led's (my homage to Bob :) ) with CR2032 batteries - as everyone from a 2yr old to 100yr old is pretty much able to understand how to tape it together safely (sometimes I have to bend the led's pins with a pocket nose plier for little ones .. I do trust em, but still, safety first :)

Having embedded electronics solve techy problems would be even more swell! Another idea would be to use electronics for collecting sensor data - in other words, create new data like lat/long for openstreetmap.. this has been a hard thing for me to pull off as I don't understand all the effort that goes into it.

Also, Jeff/Stephen (CleCivicHackers) are meeting 5/31 at Cle Public Library for their OpenStreetMap project too - a bit closer to home for some of you.

Regards,

-G
