Good news everyone:
-wired up all three limit switches, and they seem happy, though I don’t think the Z can be easily triggered.
-figured out that the weird alarm-on-spindle-on condition seems to be triggered by having hard limits turned on. Turning them off stops that problem, but leads to other problems.
-added heat sinks to the stepper drivers
-maybe most importantly, tried running some gcode examples on a random piece of plywood!
—-the shapeoko example code ran strangely (not running the whole program? The end result was just a small cutout that didn’t look like anything…)
—-a very simple ‘draw a square’ program seemed to work ok, but might have either a)scaling issues or b) just bigger than expected due to the endmill being fairly large - running what should be a 6mm square resulted in a 10mm square. BUT IT WAS STILL A SQUARE, so I’m pretty pleased :-)
