I had a mixed bag of successes and failures running the CNC last night:
-to start off, I engraved this into some plywood: https://instagram.com/p/6QxCfkNmR7/

-tried some other things that had a mix of success and failures, but those were due to missing bits of gcode which that text creator didn't include- NOTE: grbl really wants a feed rate set (via the F command) before issuing a G1 command.

-"using G0 for cutting is like going through a drive-through using cruise control"- Scott G

-then made further progress, but hampered by mysterious Arduino resets.

-tracked Arduino resets down to what I'm pretty sure is interference from the spindle motor (i.e, running a program without the spindle running ran to completion, while just running the spindle without a program would lead to a reset eventually)

-reattached the metal cover to the electronics (it seems to still mostly fit!) to reduce interference.

-one last attempt to run a program with the cover on (and the spindle on!) went successfully! Didn't take a picture, but it came out pretty much as expected.

Things to do:

-continue testing

-turn the grbl planning buffer back up (I reduced it in an attempt to debug the resets)
