Hello all. This is my first post however under bad circumstances. I have 3 MB Replicator+ machines that my school district bought. 2 were bought this year. One was bought Oct 2016 and that is the one that  looks like the attached. A complete extruder melt down. I am not happy.  I have a machine not even 2 yrs old and it needs a new Extruder. (I personally bought a Ultimaker2 and love it but I did not have the decision about the district purchase and I got these MBs instead :(     Anyway, to my point, where to purchase one. MB? Amazon? Third Party?   Just wondering where these can be purchased.

Best bet is to buy the very latest "Experimental" version of the Extruder direct from MB... BUT....
The pic does not show a ruined extruder. Maybe a better pic? In my experience the extruders can be opened and worked on and possibly fixed.

Actually, I hate myself for saying this but the best version of the smart plus extruder ONLY comes with the tough PLA filament bundle. That extruder has a stronger spring to better grip the filament than any other model.
I documented this quite a while back when it first came out. There is a difference, and it does matter, you just have to buy the bundle to get one. That is the ONLY way.
Otherwise, you are spending $200 on a regular extruder.
Think of it as paying $200 for a really good extruder that is better than stock- and paying $179 for 3 spools of really good filament

And, don't let the software trick you, it works for all other materials too.

They are selling them separate:
If you are forced to live with any of these machines and you HAVE to buy an new extruder IMO get the Experimental version. It costs the same. I have each version...(not something I think about often, they sent them to me for the podcast). The experimental version seemed the most cooperative to me.

Looks fixable to me. Crank up the heat, add a heat gun and remove slowly as it softens.
