Three days ago we discovered a gray catbird nest in our raspberry patch. Two chicks were visible, but no parent, probably scared off by our picking. The chicks looked just hatched to us and actively begging for food, so we ceased our picking and left the alone. Yesterday, I checked the nest in the morning, afternoon and early evening. Each time the mother was sitting on the nest and, I assume the chicks because I didn't see them. Again, this morning the mother is sitting on the nest. I can see the hind end of one of the chicks, but no movement. The adult bird seems small to me, but I'm not sure. Does this sound like normal nesting behavior? Thank you.

Cheers,
Dave
