Hi,

Have you tried to reboot the phone?

Subject: Excessive power consumption this past week or so.

I don't recall if it happened before the last update but it was close to the latest release (free version) that my battery consuption has gone through the roof.

I have been using push mail on one gmail and two yahoo accounts for about a year. Prior to this problem, typically my freshly recharged phone would last all day and be in the orange around midnight. All of a sudden my phone has been running out of batteries by 3pm.

I have a samsung captivate with gingerbread. I checked about, battery usage in android and maildroid uses a MASSIVE 69% of my battery. Display 13% and wireless 9%

In the past I don't recall maildroid being even in the top ten battery consumers.

Today I made sure to exit the maildroid app (still running in the background notifying in the status bar up top) and it's still using the same huge battery consumption.

Anyone else experiencing this just in the past week?

Thanks

Hi - I don't know but turning off Mobile Data doubled my battery
lifetime. I turn on wifi when I get somewhere, but leave mobile data off
unless I need it.
Now the battery lasts days instead of one day.
Highly recommended.. -turgut

Mine did that for a day or two, then I discovered that the server settings had gotten corrupted,  so it was constantly in "retry connection mode" for my accounts.

I manually reset the password and all was happy afterwards.
