Slow magit status buffer

I've noticed that the performance of magit has been noticeably worse than before after I upgraded from v1.x to v2.x. I googled around and didn't find a solution that solved the problem.

I ran the profiler and collected some results on a simple status buffer refresh action. It took several seconds (close to 10, I think). At the time of the refresh, there was only one file changed and the diff was only a couple of lines. I've attached the report to the email. If anyone has any suggestions of what I should try, please let me know.
