What is the meaning of the number in parenthesis, in the "Tag:" line at
the top of the status buffer?

Head: 9adeb58 python Finish ignoring paths and compiled files.
Upstream: 9adeb58 origin/python Finish ignoring paths and compiled files.
Tag: v0.1.0 (7)

Cheers,

I think it means that the current HEAD is 7 commits ahead of the tag
v0.1.0.

These are the commits in HEAD that are not also in v0.1.0. To hint at
this the same color is used for this count as for the names of local
branch and HEAD (blue by default).

Thank you, does make sense. Sor far, I'm finding git and magit to be
the best things since sliced bread!
