I want to play with fire

Has anyone at LVL1 built a Rubens tube or a pyro board (sometimes called a 2D Rubens tube)? I think one (or both) would be a fun project and a cool (hot) demo for the upcoming Louisville mini maker faire.

There are (sometimes conflicting) specs online that I'm wading through trying to figure out what might work best. If anyone has experience/advice I'd like to pick your brain a little.

I had hoped to have a Rubens tube done by today, but I have to make some design changes. I may still work on it this week, but probably won't have it done in time for the Maker Faire this weekend. If anyone else has one to display I still think that would be awesome.

I'd still like to make a 2D pyro board too, but would prefer to share the work and cost with others, so I'm putting that on the back burner (so to speak) for now. ;-)
