Several people have expressed an interest in getting some training on the Zenbot CNC router. This is the smaller cousin of the Shopbot -- the operation of the machines is similar and some of the same software can be used.

The easiest times for me to offer training are on Thursday evenings or on weekends. I can probably arrange Saturday morning, afternoon, or evening and could possibly do a Sunday afternoon.

If you want to attend a training session on the Zenbot please reply to this post and indicate which day/time you would prefer. Also, if you have any specific projects in mind let me know.

Two other quick notes:
1. You are welcome to use the Zenbot without attending a training session. I put fairly detailed instructions on the Wiki page linked to above and there is also a copy of those instructions on the desktop of the computer that controls the Zenbot. (It's not connected to the network.)
2. For Shopbot training please see the post from Meesh elsewhere on this message board.

Awesome! how similar is it to the laser cutter?

More like the big cnc.  Download the demo to vcarve and start messing around with that.

You import the dxf into vcarve and then make the gcode using vcarve.  Then the gcode goes to the zenbot computer where you run it and cut your part.  Sounds complicated, but it really isn't too bad.

I would definitely be interested in attending. Anytime during the weekend would be best for my work schedule.

Saturday morning is best for me. I may be more flexible than some and will participate anytime you schedule the workshop.
