I remember looking at them a while back. The sudden change to attempt to force users to use thier proprietary fillament was the turnoff. Sure there is a firmware downgrade app available today, but it violates daVinci's copyright and some day they'll likely start enforcing it. And there's no gaurentee the printer you get won't have a new "feature" preventing a downgrade, or that they won't intentionally try it to brick if you try.
In the end, I just don't want to deal with a company that engages in such a practice. And you have no idea what tactics they'll resort to in the future. But, if you're the gambling type, it might be worth it.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up-- beyond the issue with proprietary carts (which can be overcome by not updating firmware and using a cart reset tool), I hear this is a decent printer, though I'm not sure what other's experience has been. I am finding it difficult not to pull the trigger. 7.8"^3 capacity advertised. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828840001&ignorebbr=1

Reviews like this are a SERIOUS Red flag….
“…Cons: It is broken out of the box with error 0031. Support; broken English, support phone line quality terrible and disconnects and they want to ship it back with your own cost the unit, which never worked out of the box. I would not recommend buy anything from this company! Newegg does not deal with you based on the condition of the sale…”
